School Partnerships

Access to dental care is one of the largest obstacles to overcome in pediatric dental health. Dr. Moore and Gentle Dentistry partnered with Georgetown County School District in 2007 to provide dental care to children while in school. During the visit, we perform a comprehensive exam, X-rays, cleaning, and fluoride treatment. These services are only provide to children with parental permission. Since our original partnership, we have grown to service 9 schools within the district and hope to obtain more.

The staff at Gentle Dentistry is active in celebrating Dental Health Month (February). We participate by going into the schools (if requested) and teaching children about dental health, good brushing habits, and the proper diet. Another way we celebrate is by hosting students from local schools for "A Day at the Dentist" field trip. During this outing, students are able to see and touch all the "tools" that may be used at their first appointment as well as receive a "tooth counting" exam by one of our dentists.  Our Andrews office has been hosting these field trips for years and we plan for our Georgetown office to offer it in February 2017.  If your school is interested in participating, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Our staff also participates in Career Day Activities at many of the local schools. We are all experienced in various aspects of dentistry and are happy to provide educational insight to students. Should you desire on of our team members to come to your school for a Career Day, please contact us.
